At Phoenix City International School
(PCIS) we pride ourselves in providing children with a bilingual education.
English is interwoven into the curriculum and throughout the children’s daily
routines. We hope that through putting equal importance on all areas of the
curriculum and the two main languages that the children will grow up with the
skills they need for life and future learning.
PCIS is a growing school
and every year the number of children attending increases as well as the number
of classes per grade. So each year we are seeking new staff to join our
wonderful team of teachers. We have a growing community of English teachers who
make being away from home that bit easier. We all make a conscious effort to
welcome new teachers to our and the wider community. We live in a newly
refurbished block of apartments which are equipped with modern conveniences.
We are looking for staff who enjoy and are passionate about teaching
English within an integrated curriculum. We want staff who can inspire and
encourage children to learn to the best of their abilities. We want somebody who
can be an active member of the whole school community and will join in with
special days such as: The Language Festival and the Sport’s Day Opening
Ceremony. We hope that as a teacher you can offer the community your culture
whilst being aware that as ‘English’ teachers we are living in and amongst an
exciting new culture.
Our ideal candidate should preferably have
experience in teaching and working within (and as part of) a school community.
As a teacher you are expected to be dedicated and hardworking and be able to
plan and create your own exciting English lessons which support the school’s
curriculum guideline. As a member of the PCIS you should be a positive role
model for pupils and other staff members at all times. The job can be
challenging so we are looking for staff who rise to a challenge and solve a
problem in a calm, positive and constructive manner.
Our school is
currently within a transitional phase and is embarking on an exciting journey to
become an ‘International Baccalaureate School.’ Therefore our curriculum is
evolving and many changes are being implemented throughout the school. We
require a candidate who is ready for a challenge and who is willing to be part
of our learning journey and future school.
If you love English and you
are a native speaker who has a degree, preferably experience in teaching, a TEFL
or equivalent certificate then this could be the job for you! We can offer you a
teaching job with a competitive salary based on your experience as well as free
accommodation (excluding minimal utility bills), three free meals per day,
continuing professional development workshops, IB training, a welcoming
community of TEFL and native teachers and a bus pass to Guangzhou!
